Arush Lal is currently an MPhil/PhD candidate at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where his research explores the politics of global health diplomacy and governance, particularly understanding the process of integrating policies and actions for health systems that support both global health security and universal health coverage.

Arush serves as Board Vice Chair for Women in Global Health , where he supports global campaign’s across 90 countries and 40,000+ members to build a gender-transformative, intersectional, and equitable health and care workforce. In addition, he was selected as a Community and Civil Society Representative to the ACT-Accelerator for COVID-19 tools Health Systems Connector; in this role he pushes for the equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, oxygen, tests, PPE, and therapeutics globally, as well as integrating these into long-term health systems strengthening efforts.

Arush has policy, advocacy, and research experience in primary healthcare, pandemic preparedness and response, health workforce, and resilient health systems strengthening at community, national, and global levels. He is a Gates Foundation Goalkeeper, Georgia Tech 40 Under 40 Honoree, and former Fellow at Emerging Voices for Global Health and Global Health Corps. Arush has consulted for a variety of organizations, and his work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including The Lancet and BMJ Global Health on a range of topics, including digital health and technology, social determinants of health, youth engagement, global health supply chains, and global health governance.

Arush holds an MSc in Health Policy, Planning & Financing from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine as a Rotary Global Scholar and a BSc in Business Administration and Operations Supply Chain Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology as a Stamps President’s Scholar.
