The Midwest Chapter of Women in Global Health was founded in December in 2018 and housed in the Global Health Center at Washington University in St. Louis as a part of the university's commitment to Gender Equity and Diversity.

WGHMidwest recently met at a networking breakfast at the margins of the 2018 CUGH conference in Chicago. Women from academia and NGOs from the Midwest joined. Some of the issues discussed were the challenges faced in their global health careers/ work life integration, especially in the context of global health and international travel and particularities specific to the Midwest.
